Police arrest 4 bandits, recover 308 livestock in Katsina


The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four suspected bandits found in possession of of 308 livestock comprising of 170 cows and 138 sheep.

The command said the bandits identified as Isiya Halliru, Nasiru Bature, Bello Hamza, and Hassan Iliyasu were said to be part of the gang terrorizing the Kankara axis and environs of Katsina State.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah while confirming the arrest in a statement on Tuesday said the suspects had confessed that the animals belonged to their masters living in the dreaded Rugu forest.

SP Isah said they were arrested as the alleged owners failed to show up and claim ownership of the livestock.
