Police parade minor who served as errand boy to bandits


The Katsina State Police Command has paraded a 13-year-old minor, Abdulkarim Mati whom they claimed is an errand boy to one Ardo Nashaware, a notorious bandit leader in Zamfara State.

According to the police, the minor who is from Gidan Kaso village in Birnin Magaji Forest has confessed to killing two elderly bandits while they were asleep because they bullied him.

The State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah disclosed in a statement issued that the minor had escaped to town before he was apprehended by security agents.

“In the course of investigation, the boy confessed to having been taken from his parent under the guise of rearing cows by Ado Nashaware but instead, he taught him how to operate AK-47 rifle to guard rustled cows and kidnap people,” said SP Gambo.

He said the boy had demonstrated skills in handling AK 47 and also confessed to killing two elderly bandits who bullied and provoked him.

β€œHe picked an AK47 rifle and shot to death two of the elderly bandits while they were asleep and escaped into town. The investigation is ongoing,” said the police PRO.
