Herbal mixture kill family of 10 in kwara village

A family of 10 has been confirmed died in Biogberu village via Gwanara in Baruten local government area of Kwara State after consuming a herbal mixture.

Rural Post learned that the incident occurred on June 18, 2021 when two villagers, identified as Okosi Musa and Worugura Julin offered one Pennia Bonnie of Fulani camp in Biogberu a herbal mixture to cure a foot infection.

Musa and Julin were said to have instructed the woman to also ensure that all members of her family consume the mixture to prevent the spread of the disease. However, all 10 family members were said to have died in quick succession after consuming the mixture.

The spokesman of the Kwara State Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident and said the matter was reported to the police.

Okasanmi said the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Bagega, has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident.
