Flood displaces 2,000, destroys 300 farmlands in Adamawa


The Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) has said that no less than 2, 000 people have been affected across the state by floods that resulted from a downpour.

Rural Post learned the Executive Secretary of the agency, Mohamed Sulaiman, said the state capital, 227 houses were submerged and 300 farmlands were also destroyed by the flood.

According to him, 850 of the victims and 161 houses were in Duhu District in Madagali Local Government Area.

He said that the people were displaced by heavy rains on Tuesday, which caused serious damages to farmlands and houses.
