Bandits abduct women, children in Zamfara

Bandits in dressed black stormed Rini village in Bakura local government of Zamfara State and abducted women and children from the area.

An eyewitness said the bandits arrived Rini village around 4.00 pm and started shooting sporadically.

According to him, the bandits went from house to house to abduct their victims to an unknown destination.

‌“They abducted victims included my relatives and even those I don’t know. I saw the kidnappers in their black tracksuit before I escaped. The bandits covered their faces.

“Unlike previous attacks, this started in broad daylight at about 4: 00 PM Friday afternoon and lasted till about 2:30 AM Saturday morning,”he said.

He revealed that apart from the house-to-house operations conducted by the bandits, several shops were also looted in the village by the bandits.

When contacted, the spokesman for the police command, SP Muhammed Shehu confirmed the attack. He said the police command has deployed their personnel to the area.
